A Little Church with a Great Big God
Maybe you’re looking for a church home. Maybe you have questions about God. Maybe you’ve been away from church for a while and aren’t quite sure where you fit in. Or maybe you’re simply looking for a place where you can open your Bible, learn what it says, and grow in your faith.
We’d love to meet you.
We aren’t interested in putting on a show or trying to be the biggest church in town. We simply believe that when God’s people gather to worship, pray, love one another, and study His Word, God does something wonderful.
Simply Teaching the Word of God
At The Mountain Cross, we teach the Bible verse by verse and chapter by chapter. That means we don’t skip the difficult passages or simply choose topics we find interesting. We open the Bible and let God speak through His Word—discovering what He said, what it means, and how it changes the way we live.
And at the center of it all is Jesus.
As Paul wrote:
“I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”
1 Corinthians 2:2
From Genesis to Revelation, we believe the Bible points us to God’s great plan of redemption and the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. The Gospel isn’t just where the Christian life begins—it’s the foundation on which we continue to grow.
Come as You Are
We meet every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM at the Smoky Mountain Cinema, 235 Waynesville Plaza in Waynesville, North Carolina.
Yes—we meet in a movie theater and we have the largest screen in town! You ought to see the Scriptures on the big screen! Not to mention the comfy chairs! 🙂 But wherever we meet it’s about simply worshiping together, praying together, fellowshiping together, and most importantly studying God’s Word together.
Children are welcome to remain with their families and be part of the service. We believe there is something beautiful about families worshiping and growing together.
There’s a Place for You Here
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you visit. You don’t need to know all the answers. You don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not.
Whether you have followed Jesus for years, are returning to church after a long time away, or are simply curious and searching for answers, you are welcome here.
We’re just ordinary people who have discovered that we serve an extraordinary Savior.
A little church. A great big God. An open Bible. And always room for one more
