As God had promised through Jeremiah the captivity in Babylon has come to an end. The new King Cyrus of the Medo Persian empire released all Jews who are called by God to go back to Jerusalem and rebuild. A remnant take up the offer and begin the long journey of rebuilding the Temple and the city.
