Between the first and second letters to the Thessalonians, they received a letter purportedly from Paul that said they had missed the rapture and were in the midst of the Day of the Lord. In an attempt to keep them from abandoning the faith altogether, Paul writes 2nd Thessalonians to say they had not missed Christ’s return and to encourage them to keep on keeping on in Jesus… because people need the Lord!
